It’s time to talk turkey, which means we’re getting to the exciting bit. People always get worried about cooking the Christmas turkey but there’s really no need. Honest!
The easiest way to take the stress out of making sure everything’s ready at the right time is to have your big bird ready 2 – 3 hours before you want to eat it. Cover it with foil and a towel and it will be well rested, warm and perfect to eat when you’re ready for it.
Remember an average 6kg weight turkey takes 3½ – 4 hours to cook. After 3½ hours remove foil and bake for further 30 mins, basting regularly. Bon appetit!
